All you need to know about the end of the FBT year
The end of the FBT (Fringe Benefits Tax) year is quickly approaching. Now is the time to make sure you are prepared and making the most of your annual salary packaging before the 31 March deadline.
Important information:

- If you would like to make changes to your salary packaging deductions before the 31 March 2021, ensure you make the change two weeks prior to the pay date you wish the change to take effect.
- Apply to start salary packaging and for a card in the current FBT year (2020/21) by 8 March 2021.
- All claims need to be submitted by 18 March 2021.
- Make sure you reduce your card and account balance to $0 by 31 March 2021.

Claiming your salary packaging balance
The FBT year ends on 31 March, but all claims for balances currently in salary packaging accounts must be received by 6:00pm (ACDT) on Thursday 18 March to ensure they’re processed prior to the end of the FBT year. Claims received after this date may not be processed before this time.
When using your salary packaging card, some vendors and financial institutions may take a few days to process transactions so we recommend you don’t wait until the last minute to spend your balance, but allow time for all pending transactions to be processed by 31 March.
If you need to amend your February/ March contributions you must do so two weeks prior to the pay date you are amending.
Please note: You can check balances and transactions for both your salary packaging account and your salary packaging card online and via the AccessPay app.
